Quick and easy Turmeric Milk

As the leaves begin to change and the weather cools, autumn invites us to slow down and nurture ourselves with warm, comforting beverages. As a holistic practitioner, I often recommend incorporating spices like turmeric into our diets during this season. Turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties, can help support our immune system and reduce inflammation that can be exacerbated by the colder temperatures.

One of my favourite ways to enjoy turmeric is in the form of a soothing, creamy turmeric milk. And the good news is, it's incredibly simple to make - anyone can do it! With just a few ingredients and a few minutes, you can whip up a delicious and nourishing drink that will help you feel grounded and centred as the leaves fall outside.

In this recipe, we'll be combining the warming properties of turmeric with creamy coconut milk, a couple of our Turmeric and Black Pepper Capsules with Turmeric Extract which also contain  black pepper to enhance the absorption of the curcumin. Whether you're looking to unwind after a long day or simply want to add a touch of comfort to your autumn routine, this turmeric milk recipe is sure to hit the spot.

Method:

  • Place a small, heavy-based stainless steel saucepan on the lowest gas setting.
  • Add ghee and gently allow it to melt.
  • Once just melted, add the Surya Prana Nutrition Organic Turmeric & Black Pepper Capsules and the organic Ceylon cinnamon powder.
  • Allow the spices to infuse the ghee and add the coconut milk and pinch of salt. Simmer for a couple of minutes and serve.

If you would like to add some sweetness, a little locally and ethically sourced raw honey can be added once the milk is cool enough to drink!

Ghee is traditionally used in turmeric milk recipes. However, if you are vegan, you can use one teaspoon of coconut oil as an alternative!
